Cooperative PBL Increases Student Cooperation

The learning model is a method or systematic presentation technique used by teachers in organizing the learning process experience in order to achieve the objectives of a lesson. The learning model is a learning planning process that is used as a reference in planning learning in the classroom

When the learning model carried out by the teacher is still conventional, such as the teacher providing theory, sample questions, exercises or giving homework that is carried out continuously, it will result in boring learning, students become passive. So that the understanding obtained will also be easily forgotten. Based on the results of observations during the learning process, the researcher can conclude that the cooperation skills of students in social studies at SD Negeri 5 Karangrau have not experienced an increase in achievement with results that are still low, it is necessary to increase cooperation skills which will have an impact on increasing student learning outcomes.

When observed, it was seen that students were less active and creative in carrying out teaching and learning activities. Students are less active in asking questions or asking questions to other group members because they only rely on one of their friends, in fact the teacher has given students the opportunity to share opinions in their groups, but only certain students dare to express opinions and other students copy the answers. The teaching and learning process in conventional classrooms is no longer considered relevant.

Creating a memorable start is important because it will affect the next process. If the beginning is good, interesting, and engaging, then the learning process will be more lively and exciting. Seeing the problem above, the author uses a method to change the old learning into Problem Based Learning (PBL) which is combined with a cooperative model. PBL is a learning model that involves students to solve problems through the stages of the scientific method so that students can learn knowledge related to the problem and at the same time have the skills to solve problems (Kamdi, 2007:77).

The problem-based learning model is a learning process in which the starting point of learning begins based on problems in real life, students are stimulated to study problems based on their previous knowledge and experience to form new knowledge and experiences. First, the teacher explains the learning objectives, explains the necessary logistics, poses problems, motivates students to be involved in the problem solving activities they choose. Second, the teacher helps students define and organize learning tasks related to the problem. Third, the teacher encourages students to collect appropriate information, carry out experiments, to get explanations for solving problems.

Fourth, the teacher helps students in planning and preparing appropriate works such as reports, videos, models and helps them for various tasks with their groups. Fifth, the teacher helps students reflect or evaluate their investigations in the processes they use. While cooperative learning can be interpreted as learning together, helping each other in learning and ensuring that everyone in the group achieves predetermined goals or tasks.

With PBL combined with a cooperative model, learning will trigger students to explore, find and deal with problems during group learning. Students become more sensitive to the problems that occur in the surrounding environment. Effectively used in problem solving to understand the content of the lesson. The existence of problem solving in groups makes cooperative activities in student learning more increased. This has a big effect on improving the learning outcomes of social studies content subjects in class VI.
