Shifting India Post eMail Solution to eMail Service Provided by NIC - Technology Division DOP

Centralized India Post email solution is presently managed by CSI under IT Modernization Project Under the email Solution, two type of email IDs i.e. Name-based Email IDs and Functional Email IDs (Designation or Location-based) are provided for 25000 users approximately.

It has been proposed to shift email services to NIC with same domain i.e. Indiapost.gov.in. In NIC email services, provision of mobile number of the user is mandatory for authorization/ OTP and other activities.

In this regard, an email has also been sent on 16.6.2021 and 29.6.2021 from DoP Email

Solution Nodal Officer, CEPT to all Circles/Regions/Divisions and active users of email

services for updation of mobile number alongwith process document for updation of mobile number in webmail.

In Name-based Email IDs, mobile number of user holding the email ID is required to be updated. In Functional Email IDs (Designation or location-based ID), mobile number of the official holding the post / activity is required to be updated. 

NIC has informed that they will also provide user interface to the email user for change of mobile number of the incumbent at the time of leave, transfer, etc of the official.

I have been directed to request you look into the matter and confirm the updation of mobile number of all the users by 15.7.2021; failing which the email ID will not be transferred to NIC services and email ID will be considered as deactivated.
