As you can see, I used lots of browns and oranges along with my normal white pumpkins. After setting up this tablescape, I was definitely getting a Thanksgiving vibe!
I combined all my different kinds of pumpkins on multiple layers with this upside down riser/crate. I added a little bit of character with some clay pots.
I decided to set the table in a few of these pics. I used the braided placemats and topped them with a scalloped white placemat. I topped the dishes off with a pumpkin and little beaded tassel.
For the head chairs, I always add pillows. I went with a darker plaid cover I got from Hobby Lobby.
My poor table has seen better days. My kids decided to do kinetic sand on it the other day, and a lot of sand apparently "hopped" out of the baking pan and ended up underneath it. Well, with a couple hours worth of play and the sand grinding into my table, the finish is completely scratched up now. The veneer is coming up anyway, and the dings are just everywhere. I even have a place where bloody red Halloween hands can be seen :/ ... ps. don't put window clings on your furniture...especially bloody hand looking ones :) I fear it is time to paint this table. I really love the contrast of the brown, but I'm thinking I'm wanting to paint it white. What do you think?
Let's move on to my buffet. I love decorating this area! I feel like I can easily go with the more is more approach here. For the wall above it, I added these fall branches to my "windows". I've been swagging greenery on it all year, and it now looks so empty without something. These branches worked perfectly.
I added lots of dark woods tones on here to richen the space up.
I then went with greenish/yellow grasses to add some texture and more color.
I have a huge collection of cutting boards and bread boards, one of these days I'm going to have to make a display of them all along this wall...or somewhere near it. :)

This post contains affiliate linksWell, I did it. I went a little out of my comfort zone and added some more traditional fall colors into my dining room and living room for the season. I have plans to already change my dining room decor, but decided to share how it's currently decorated with you today. When I decorate a little out of my comfort zone, it doesn't last long! :)

Next on the to do list in here, besides figuring out this whole table thing, is adding shiplap to the top of the board and batten against the door wall. What do you think? I'm kind of done with the beige color. Or maybe I'll do some wallpaper :)
Am I the only one who goes to sleep dreaming up of different things to change my house room by room? ha! Seriously though.
